Adds Claude to Firefox search. When you install it, Firefox asks whether to make Claude your default search engine. You can say no and still ask Claude with the @claude keyword.

WHAT IT DOES

Address bar. Type @claude, a space and your question, press Enter, and Claude opens with your question. If you made Claude your default search engine, anything you search for in the address bar goes to Claude.

Sidebar. Click the toolbar button or press Alt+Shift+C to open Claude next to the page you are reading. Click again to close it.

Right-click menu. Select text on any page, right-click and choose Claude: Ask about it, Explain, Summarize or Translate into your browser language. Claude's answer opens in the sidebar or in a new tab, as you choose in the add-on settings.

Usage meter (optional, off by default). Turn it on in the add-on settings and the toolbar icon shows how much of your current Claude session limit you have used, with a W in front when your weekly limit is the tighter one. The settings page shows session and weekly usage and when each resets.

YOUR DATA

The add-on has no servers and collects nothing for itself.

Searches you send to Claude go straight to claude.ai, the same way any search engine works.

Selected text is sent to claude.ai only when you pick an item in the Claude menu, and only after you allow it once in the Firefox prompt. You can turn this off at any time in the add-on settings or in Firefox Add-ons Manager.

The usage meter reads your own usage from your signed-in claude.ai account, only after you turn it on and allow access in the Firefox prompt. The numbers stay in your browser.

Claude answers in your own claude.ai account. You need a Claude account to chat.

To stop using Claude as your default search engine, open Firefox Settings, then Search, and choose another engine.
