Image Search adds a fast, privacy-conscious reverse-image search menu to Firefox. Right-click an image and search for it with one provider—or all your enabled providers at once.

How to use

1. Right-click a publicly accessible image.
2. Open Search image with…
3. Select a provider or All enabled providers.

The extension also supports Instagram photos. When Instagram places an interaction layer over a photo, Image Search can identify the visible image below it and provide the same search menu.

Supported search providers

• Google Lens — objects, products, landmarks, text, and visually similar images
• TinEye — exact or modified copies and older occurrences
• Bing Visual Search — similar images, products, and visual matches
• Yandex Images — broad visual matching from a different search index
• SauceNAO — original sources for illustrations, anime, and manga
• trace.moe — anime episode and scene identification; disabled by default

Customizable settings

• Enable or disable individual search providers
• Show or hide the All enabled providers option
• Open results in foreground or background tabs
• Restore the default settings at any time

Privacy

Image Search has no server, analytics, advertising, or remote code. It does not retain searched image addresses or collect browsing history.

An image address is sent to a search provider only after you explicitly select that provider. Searches are then subject to that provider’s privacy policy.

The extension requests access only to its settings and context menu, plus a small Instagram-specific helper used to identify right-clicked photos beneath Instagram’s interaction layer.

Important limitations

Images must have a publicly accessible http:// or https:// address that the selected provider can retrieve. Local files, data: images, blob: images, credential-bearing addresses, and private-network addresses cannot be searched.

Provider availability, regional restrictions, bot checks, and result quality are controlled by each search service and may change independently.
