This extension intercepts mailto links and redirects them to the user-configured Synology MailPlus launch URL so that email links open in the local MailPlus client in browser instead of a mail client app. The user can configure the Synology NAS host or IP and optional port during setup, and the extension will build the required MailPlus launch URL automatically. An advanced override option is also available for installations that require a custom full URL.
The extension monitors mailto links, blocks the default browser handling, and opens the configured MailPlus application page. It may also inject a minimal script into the MailPlus page to trigger the compose workflow when needed. The extension stores only the user’s MailPlus configuration locally in browser storage for repeat use and does not collect email content, browsing history, or personal account data.
