Update in progress (October 25, 2026): the service used by version 0.9 stopped working. Version 0.11 is being prepared for Mozilla review. The updated source is available at https://github.com/yashjoshi-dotcom/LinkLift-Firefox.

LinkLift 0.11 can detect member-only Medium articles and open retrieved text in a simple reader. It tries ReadMedium first and can optionally try Freedium.

Choose your sources and accept the disclosure in LinkLift settings. Automatic opening starts off. You can also use the toolbar to open a Medium article or paste its URL.

LinkLift checks article identity and text length, removes active remote markup, and reports retrieval failures. Some services return partial text or cannot retrieve a story. LinkLift does not guarantee access to every article or that every returned article is complete.

Opening an article shares its cleaned URL with the selected independent reading service, which receives your IP address and normal request information. Your Medium cookies are not forwarded. Privacy notice: https://github.com/yashjoshi-dotcom/LinkLift-Firefox/blob/main/PRIVACY.md

Version 0.11 requires Firefox 140 or later on desktop. Android has not been tested.
