“notifications” – Used to send desktop notifications. For example when a new message arrives or the App is updated.
“contextMenus” – Allows adding more settings when you right-click the App icon in the browser toolbar and in the browser context menu, for example to open links in the App when you right-click them.
“storage” – Used to save settings on your local computer.
“scripting” – Used to be able to insert JS or CSS on the required host/domains: it puts the emoji you pick right in the message box of the page, for example when you open Emoji Keyboard from the emoji button of our chat Apps.
“system.display” – Used to detect the display size and position the Extension window (the Emoji Keyboard window that opens next to our chat Apps, from the right-click menu or when you pop it out).
“unlimitedStorage” – Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.
“host_permissions” – Permission to access some hosts/domains that we must modify in order to provide the desired functionality detailed above. It also allows you to share content (links or text) from other pages directly inside the App. Also used to allow intercommunication with other Oinkandstuff Apps (i.e. the emoji button of our chat Apps).
“activeTab” – Permission to access the window where the Extension is running and that is shown to the user, for example to put the emoji you pick in the page you are using.
“tabs” – Permission required to query all the active tabs in order to put the emoji on the requested tab.
“all_urls” – We must have access to all hosts/domains in order to inject Emojis on the user target webpage text input.
“webRequest” & “webRequestBlocking” – Used to intercept some requests and adjust their headers on the page where you are writing, so that Emoji Keyboard can put the emoji in the message box of any website or App (including our chat Apps).
