XSpace - Add Cards

XSpace - Add Cards EN

XSpace · Edge MV3

Organize web pages and selected text as XSpace cards. Requires the XSpace desktop app for Windows.

v0.5.13当前版本

简介

Keep useful information within reach, without searching for it again.

XSpace sends web references, selected text, and references to individual emails and chat messages to the XSpace desktop app on the same Windows PC. Start from the right-click menu or toolbar, then review the content and destination in XSpace before adding a card.

What you can do
- Add web pages, selected text, links, and image references as cards.
- Save references to individual messages in supported webmail and chat services.
- Register file and folder references in supported cloud drives.
- Save videos using their page titles and reopen the original videos from cards.
- Return to saved positions and highlight content on supported pages.

Remember what a message was about
When you add a supported email or chat message without selecting text, the first up to 120 characters of that one message's body are saved in its note. Email card names use up to 120 characters of the subject; chat card names use up to 32 characters from the beginning of the excerpt. These rules apply across supported webmail and chat services.
When you drag to select text and add it, only the selected text goes into the note. No separate 120-character body excerpt is added. Selected text and up to 160 characters of context on each side may be stored in the return URL to distinguish the original position. New general web selection cards also store a page-structure location marker in the return URL fragment. The marker and preceding context share a 160-character limit; neither is added to the note. In supported webmail, new selection cards can also highlight the selected words in yellow and blue within the saved individual email. Re-add older cards that lack a saved text position.

Required app and setup
The XSpace Windows app must be installed on the same PC. The extension cannot save cards by itself. Saving body excerpts in notes and selection-position information requires an updated Windows app that supports these features. Connecting to an older app displays an update notice.
Official download information: https://xspace-pro.com/#download
The app supports Intel/AMD x64 PCs running Windows 11 24H2 (OS build 26100) or later. Use this extension with Microsoft Edge for Windows.
1. Install XSpace for Windows and this extension.
2. In app versions with storage protection, set a four-digit recovery password on first use. Read and accept the extension's data-handling notice.
3. Right-click the target page, email, message, or selected text and choose the XSpace add command.
4. Review the content and destination in XSpace, add the card, and use it to open the source.
Supported webmail allows adding from the message body, blank areas within it, or the message list. For chat services, right-click inside the intended message. If the exact target cannot be identified, the extension does not substitute the latest email or message.

Languages and limitations
Menus and notices follow Microsoft Edge's display language: Japanese, Korean, or English, with English for other languages. Basic card addition does not require an XSpace account. Private sources require the original service's login and access rights. Changes to source content, page structure, or loading state can prevent position restoration. Microsoft Edge internal pages and other restricted pages are not supported.

Data handling
Explicit consent is requested on first use and after updates that change the data-handling notice version. Reading content and sending registration data do not start before consent. Only consent status, notice version, and consent time are saved in extension local storage. Cards are not added automatically: a registration action and confirmation in XSpace are required.
Depending on the action, the extension reads URLs, titles, selected text and brief context, the first up to 120 body characters described above, email subjects/senders/displayed dates/identifiers, confirmed user-created label names, and cloud item names/types/identifiers. Registration data goes through Native Messaging and local IPC to XSpace on the same PC. It does not bulk-collect or synchronize mailboxes or chats.
Some supported webmail services store the subject, URL, message identifier, and a check value derived from subject/sender/date in the return URL; the underlying sender/date are not stored as separate fields. Some supported services temporarily retain return identifiers in site sessionStorage; these may remain after a failed return or session restoration.
In app versions with storage protection, after setting the recovery password, cards, notes, and new autosave/recovery files are encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM. Existing plaintext backups, explicitly exported Markdown, photos/thumbnails, file names, and browser history/temporary information are excluded. Recovery on another PC requires the complete data set, .key file, and recovery password. Older unsupported app versions do not encrypt these files. User-selected sync folders may be synchronized by that service.
Source restoration searches displayed text or elements locally, scrolls, and highlights. Interactions may be detected to identify a target or cancel restoration; typed content, mouse paths, and continuous browsing history are not recorded. For supported webmail and document return handling, the extension uses the webNavigation permission after consent to follow the relevant return navigation and keeps the selection location or page identifier in memory temporarily for up to 60 seconds from the original capture. It does not collect general browsing history or send this information to the developer's server. The extension does not send registration data to the developer's server. Opening a reference connects the browser to the original service. The app's account authentication and update checks are separate communication functions.
