SpeedPilot is a universal playback-speed controller for HTML5 video and audio. Every site handles speed control differently, if it offers it at all — SpeedPilot gives you one consistent layer that works the same way everywhere: the same popup, the same on-video controller, and the same keyboard shortcuts, no matter which site you're on.

FEATURES
- Instant speed control from 0.05x to 16x, with extreme values clamped gracefully when a player can't keep up
- Fine-grained control: set your own step size and your own preset list (0.75x, 1.1x, 1.75x, whatever fits how you watch)
- Default keyboard shortcuts for decrease, increase, reset to 1x, rewind, forward, and toggling the on-video controller — every shortcut is reassignable, and all shortcuts automatically disable while you're typing in any text field
- Configurable rewind/forward skip length (5, 10, 15, 30 seconds, or your own value)
- Per-site speed memory: SpeedPilot remembers a preferred speed for each site by hostname, so YouTube can stay at 1.5x while a lecture platform stays at 1.75x
- Works with multiple videos on one page — apply a speed to just the active player or to every media element at once
- Dynamic media detection: a single MutationObserver (not a polling loop) picks up videos a site loads in after the page first renders, including same-origin embedded players
- An optional on-video controller — a small floating speed readout over the player — that you can set to always-on, show-on-hover, auto-hide, or off
- Live remaining-time and time-saved readouts that update as you change speed, without altering the video's real duration
- One-click Picture-in-Picture when the browser and player support it
- Focus mode, which dims everything but the player without touching the host page's own layout
- Works on audio too — podcasts and lecture recordings get the same controls as video
- A side panel view as an alternative to the popup, plus a full Settings page for defaults, presets, shortcuts, and per-site rules

PRIVACY
SpeedPilot stores your settings and per-site speed preferences locally in your browser. It makes no network requests of its own, includes no analytics, ads, or third-party scripts, and never reads or stores your browsing history. An optional, off-by-default setting mirrors just your settings and site rules (never browsing data) to your browser's own sync storage, if you want them to follow you across devices.
