Mindful Search Engine quiets the parts of search engines that are built to keep you searching, and removes distractions, so you can focus. Each supported search engine has its own settings.
Autocomplete
• Turn off the suggestion dropdown while you type.
• Suggestion requests are blocked before they load, not just hidden, where the browser allows it.
• Shortcuts button to a search engine's own settings to disable autocomplete, where one exists.
Results page
• Hide distracting sections, with each one having its own switch.
• Changes apply live, without reloading the page.
Appearance
• Grayscale mode, always on or only during a daily schedule (for example 21:00–07:00).
In the popup and settings
• Toolbar popup with quick toggles for the search engine you're on.
• Full settings page per search engine, with a master on/off switch and Reset to defaults.
• Export and import your settings.
• Dark theme that follows your system.
Supported now: Bing, Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, Google, Qwant, Startpage, Yahoo Search, Yandex.
Privacy: The extension collects no data and sends nothing to its developer or any third party. It makes no network requests. It only hides elements and blocks suggestion requests on the supported search engines, and your settings stay in your browser's extension storage.
