IMPORTANT - REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU INSTALL
LinkCage works with software on your own PC. It requires:
1) Docker Desktop, installed and running, and
2) The free LinkCage companion host (one-time install).

WHAT LINKCAGE DOES
Right-click an untrusted link and choose "Open in LinkCage." Instead of loading in Microsoft Edge, the link opens inside a disposable Chromium browser in an isolated Docker container on your machine. Malicious content - phishing forms, malware, exploits, trackers - stays trapped in the throwaway container, away from your real browser, files, and saved sign-ins. Close it and it's destroyed.

Before the page loads, LinkCage checks the link against URLhaus and Google Safe Browsing and shows a SAFE, SUSPICIOUS, or MALICIOUS screen.

WHY PEOPLE USE IT
- Genuine OS-level isolation via Docker - stronger than an InPrivate window.
- Disposable: the sandbox runs in RAM and is wiped when closed.
- Local and private: no LinkCage cloud; your browsing is not sent to us. Reputation checks query URLhaus and Google Safe Browsing directly.
- Open-source and auditable.

WHAT IT IS NOT
Not antivirus; it does not scan or block threats in your normal Edge browsing. It sandboxes only the links you explicitly choose to cage.
