Lexpad: Save Words from Videos and Web Pages EN

Save phrases and idioms of up to 7 words. Select "once in a blue moon" on a page, or drag across it in a subtitle, and it goes into your notebook as one card. You stay connected now. Before, Lexpad could sign you out a few minutes after you connected. When your AI cards for the day are used, the card tells you how many you had and when they come back, and you can still save the word.

- One switch per site: turn Lexpad off on a site by right-clicking the page or the Lexpad button. The button shows OFF there. Lexpad works in tabs that were open before you installed it. Your list of sites stays in your browser.
- Words in video subtitles: on YouTube, TED, lessons with an HTML5 video and common web players, rest your pointer on a subtitle and the video waits. Click a word, or drag across a few, and the card opens. The subtitle line is saved as the example, the page and the moment as your note.
- Words in live meeting captions (Google Meet): turn captions on in the call and rest your pointer on them. A still copy of the last lines appears so the words stop moving while you click; "Earlier" shows the last ten lines. Only the word you click and its line are saved, never speaker names.

Lexpad is a vocabulary notebook for the words you meet yourself. This extension adds a word you select on any web page to your Lexpad notebook, with its meaning and the sentence it was in.

How it works
- Connect once: click the Lexpad button in the toolbar and choose Connect. The Lexpad web app asks you to allow the extension. You never type your password into the extension.
- Select a word or a short phrase (up to seven words) and press the small + button, or right-click and choose "Add to Lexpad".
- A card shows the part of speech, level, pronunciation and up to three meanings with examples, written by AI with the page's sentence as context.
- Press Enter or "Add to Lexpad" to save it. Esc closes the card.

What is saved
- The word and its meanings, ready to edit in your notebook.
- The sentence from the page, as the word's first example.
- A private "Seen on" note with the page title and its address, without the part after a ? or #.

You choose the words
Lexpad never suggests words and never fills your notebook on its own. Only what you select is added; AI only explains it.

Choosing the notebook
Pick which notebook new words go to in the extension menu. If a word is in a script that notebook cannot hold, for example Arabic while an English notebook is chosen, it goes to the one notebook that can, and the card says where. The same menu turns the + button on or off and disconnects the browser.

Privacy
The extension asks for storage, the right-click menu, access to the Lexpad API, and the right to start its own select-a-word script on web pages, so it works in tabs that were already open. It never asks for your tabs, your history or permission to run remote code, and it never sends the content of the pages you read. Good to know
- The + button is never offered inside text fields, so writing on a page is undisturbed.
- The extension's own screens are in English; words and meanings can be in any of your notebook languages.

- Words you add appear in your notebook in the Lexpad web app.
